چکیده
High-intensity physical exercises can cause oxidative stress and muscle damage. Several medicinal plants have been used as antioxidant anti-inflammatory agents. The present study evaluated high-intensity resistance exercise (HIRE) associated with Schinus Terebentifholius ethanolic extract (EE) on parameters damage in Wistar rats. Animals were divided into 04 groups (n=10/group): 1. Control (CG) - animals that did not undergo HIRE treated vehicle (distilled water, orally); 2. Acute (AE) submitted to acute session; 3. Exercise + (EV) underwent 4. (EX) administered terebenthifolius EE (100mg/Kg, orally) the session. showed high vitro activity (13.88 ± 0.36 mg/mL). Before experimental period, lactate was measured at pre post moments of AE (p<0.0001) EX groups. After session, following evaluated: {malondialdehyde (MDA), sulfhydryl (SH) ferric reducing power (FRAP)}, (creatine kinase (CK) dehydrogenase (LDH)), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) aspartate (AST). In vivo analyses group compared EV groups, respectively: hepatic (MDA: p<0.0001 SH: p=0.0033, both; FRAP: p=0.0011 p=0.0047), (MDA, SH p<0.0001, CK: p=0.0001 p<0.0001; LDH: both), serum levels p=0.0003, p=0.0012, p=0.0056, p=0.0200, p=0.0017 p=0.0165) significant. There no significant difference ALT AST markers. It could be concluded attenuated

Exercise and Intensity : Implications for Oxidative Stress and Muscle Damage
Submit Manuscript | http://medcraveonline.com This process may be initiated by the loss of intracellular calcium homeostasis which could activate a number of proteolytic and lipolytic systems [2]. Infiltration of mononuclear cells also occurs in the days after unaccustomed exercise. Release of secondary degradation products may increase osmotic pressures in the vicinity of the damage, and this ...

Participation in exercise has been linked with positive results on the cardiovascular system, metabolism, musculature etc. Some of these benefits are linked with reductions in blood pressure, increases in resting energy expenditure, changes in lipid profile, reductions in fat mass, increases in fat free mass etc. (Evans, 1999). There are different types of exercise that someone can participate ...
متن کاملInfluence of glutamine supplementation on muscle damage and oxidative stress indices following 14km running
Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate effects of 7 day glutamine supplementation on exercise-induced oxidative stress and muscle damage. Methods: Nineteen healthy, nonsmoking, young men were recruited to participate in this study. Participants were randomized in a double-blind placebo-controlled fashion into 2 groups: Glutamine (G group) (n=9) and placebo (P group) (n=10). Subj...

The possible pathways of oxidative stress in anaerobic exercise includes transient and acute muscular deoxygenation, which resembles the ischemiareperfusion, xanthine oxidase activation, catecholamine autoxidation, and NADPH oxidase activation, prostanoid metabolism, phagocyte respiratory burst activity, disruption of iron containing proteins, and altered calcium homeostasis. 5 Mechanical stres...

PURPOSE This study was conducted to assess the effect of Two-week L-carnitine supplementation on known markers of oxidative stress and muscle damage following acute bouts of exercise in active healthy young men. METHODS Twenty-one active healthy men volunteered for this study. Participants were randomized in a double-blind placebo-controlled fashion into two groups: L-carnitine (C group; n=10...
